Lemon Battery

Today for Science we tried to make a Lemon Battery  at first we only used four Lemons and the LED light did not work so we used two more Lemons but jet again it did not power the LED light so we keeped adding. It didn't work I think the negative and positive weren't in the right place.

What you need for this: Lemons,Nails not screws, Copper plated coins, alligator clips and wire also an LED light only 3 volts You need to make the connect wire  with the alligator clips and wire then get a few lemons and put the cleanest copper coin in each Lemon the the nail near the coin on the Lemons then put connect the clips on the nails then put it on coin Do that over and over again with all the nails and coins but leave to wires and connect it to the LED light it most likely will light up.

Tokyo Olympics Acrostic Poem

Today for writing my team made a acrostic poem which I have done before a few times and I really like to do, it was cool to think of different words to use and the words have to be related to the Olympics', I found it quite hard to find words that worked for cartian letters.

Cotton Ball Cannon

This week's Experiment I made a Cotton Ball Cannon I had to get all the things I needed first which was: two cardboard tubes, a pencil, thin strong rubber bands,  a hole puncher, scissors', tape and a cotton ball. First I cut one of the cardboard tubes in half and taped it up then I used the hole puncher to put a hole in the smallest tube now I cut four slits in the big tube on opposite sides of the tube and put the rubber bands through the slits and taping the bottom of the slits, then I pulled the rubber bands over the pencil and put the cotton ball in the big tube  so it was just touching the small tube.

The class had a test of who could go the furthest, the first few times I couldn't get it to shoot properly but then I got the cotton ball 30cm I decided to shoot at different angle and it worked I got 50cm on my second turn then on my third turn I got 125cm the person who got the furthest got 260 I think, I enjoyed this Experiment.

Olympic Value Medals.

The last two weeks I have been learning about the Olympic values, I finish that and this is my create about the Olympic values I did Silver and did the Olympic rings on my own, Cassidy did gold and Leyton did Bronze I think we all did very good it was hard to pick who was doing which Medal but we chose who was getting what Medal. The Olympic values are Excellence, Respect and Friendship, Excellence means doing your hardness even if your just trying too, Respect means caring for others feelings and options, Friendship is being loyal to those around you and caring for them, that's what the Olympic values mean to me.

The colors were easy to chose for the Medals I chose a light gray color for mine, the Silver is for Friendship, the Bronze is for Excellence and Gold is for Respect, I really enjoyed making my Medal it was a very fun experience. I hope I get to something like this in the future. What do you think I could work on?

The Egg Drop.

Today in science we did a Experiment using: Eggs, a Plate, a Toilet paper tube and a Cup, we filled up  the Cup with water but if we filled up to much the splash may be to big and wet the carpet, My bubby for the Experiment was Isobel, Isobel set it up and then hit the Plate the Egg stayed in the air for a second and then fell into the cup uncracked the first times I did it and it work but then on my 3rd turn I didn't hit the Plate with enough force and the Egg fell and cracked not that bad thought.

We did this Experiment to test Newton's First Law, once the Egg was moving it didn't want to stop moving. The container of water interrupted the egg's fall, providing a safe landing.

I enjoyed this Experiment it show me about movement and what happens when a force is interrupted it doesn't what to stop but is forced too.

Should we be prepared for a natural disaster?

Today my writing class has been learning about persuasive writing, I had to state if I was for or against the topic I am for the topic because I do think that you need to be prepared for a natural disaster I have tried to state that in my introduction.

I found it easy to plan out my persuasive writing because I know how to make paragraphs.

I found it hard to think of words that will persuasive the people reading this.

I enjoyed learning about  how to persuasive  people when you write.

Next time I will make my writing stuck out more to more people so when they read they will like it more.

Balloon Madness.

Today in science we are learning about Newton's three laws of motion and for the Experiment Mrs Bava fullend up a bit of a Balloon and then fullend up the drink bottle with vinegar Mrs Bava then put the Balloon over the bottle top  and put the baking soda into the bottle causing a reaction that fizzed up the vinegar an made the Balloon start to get bigger.

When vinegar and baking soda mix, an endothermic reaction occurs. This produces carbon dioxide which inflates the balloon. The endothermic chemical reaction will also lower the temperature in the area surrounding the vinegar and baking soda so significantly that you will be able to easily notice the change in temperature.

I found it easy to notice and observe was happening to the Balloon.

I found it hard to understand why the Balloon fills up with the chemicals.

I enjoyed  seeing the reaction from the vinegar as it started to fizz up.

Next time I will try find of  why this reaction is happening.
